Concert Review We have been staying just in front of the stage at The Adelphi ballroom for hours. There have been wonderful concerts with Sgt Pepper's Band from Brazil, and not to forget The Overtures from England, with guest-appearance by Fab Frank himself. Now we've got premium spots very near the stage! The ball room is crowded. At last comes the announcement we've all been waiting for: "Ladies and gentlemen - THE FAB FAUX!" Roaring applause! 01. 02. Taxman. Dry, fat guitars. This is The Beatles guitar-sound I like the most! From 'Revolver'. And Jimmy's voice! This was Rhytm & Blues, man! Wow! 03. Yer Blues. "You're the best audience in the world!" Will said. Then the first highlight of tonight! Rich's powerful vocal - and his drum beat! How does he do it? Singing and drumming so good simultanously! Rocking guitar-improvisations at the end. This is something I like the most with The Fab Faux. They play very faithful to the originals. But they dare also add a little flavouring now and then. 04. She Said She Said. This song cannot be easy to play live with all it's tempo-shifts. But no troubles here. Frank and Will shared the vocals so good in the middle of the stage. And the guitars! So wonderfully played! Not to forget Rich's drums - excellent! 05. Happiness Is A Warm Gun. Unbelievable vocals and drums by Rich again! And how the rest of the band played - tough, tough guitars! 06. Why Don't We Do It In The Road? Jack's vocals - soul - Soul - SOUL MUSIC! 07. Cry Baby Cry. A fine gentle version beautifully sung by Jimmy and Rich. 08. Mr Moonlight. At last we got the chance to see Rich in full, as he took place in front of the stage with Will at the drums. Oh, what a great soul-voice he delivered in Mr Moonlight! 09. Because. This was the very first song The Fab Faux learned. It must have given them shivers down the spine, when they heard how beautifully their voices blended together in the harmonies for the first time. And they are only 5 persons. The Beatles were 9! Yes, John's, Paul's and George's voices was triple-tracked during the recordings. A Fab highlight! 10. While My Guitar Gently Weeps. One of my very favourite Beatle tracks. We have never before heard such a beautiful and tough version as the one Jimmy gave us tonight. Unsurpassed! Supported by just brilliant lead vocals shared by Frank and Jack. Another highlight! 11. Revolution. The 'last' song. Full power! Jimmy gave it all with his vocals. And the guitars and drums! Magic - Jimmy, Frank and Rich! Not to forget Jack's percussion! The band left the stage. But we hadn't got enough! Time for the ENCORE! 12. Everybody's Got Something To Hide Except Me And My Monkey. MY FAVOURITE ENCORE! When we first heard it in 1999 I just blew over!! And we became not dissappointed tonight! The whole band gave it all. Jimmy's and Rich's POWERFUL vocals. Jack's percussion. Frank's and Jimmy's guitars played for full! This cannot be described, if you weren't there yourself! September 16th, 2001 Text and photo:
