LIVERPOOL BEATLE WEEK Friday 24 August 2001 Concerts at
Many great bands at BARCELONA this afternoon...
AUSTRALIAN BEATALS came all the way from Australia off course. A great band! The highlight during the week must have been their recording-sessions at Abbey Road Studio 2 - The Beatles' studio! We were there also in 1998 together with Lenny Pane. It was an unforgettable evening! A memory of a lifetime! Thank you Cavern City Tours!
THE BLUE MEANIES was the only local band from Liverpool during Beatle Week. Welcome among all Brazilian, Scotish, American and Swedish bands! Time now for some 'unplugged' music...
Since Instant Karma and Band On The Run no longer are around, Instant's JON KEATS and Band's BOB BARTEY had come together to perform an 'unplugged' set as THE NURK TWINS. The same name as two very young boys named John and Paul once used. We heard many wonderful versions of John's and Paul's songs.

Many great bands tonight...
The music of CLUBE BIG BEATLES never make us disappointed. A great concert again! (But does all like the giant paper hands?!)
THE PARROTS played really good this night - and all other nights! And no wonder, they are one of the most famous cover bands in Japan! And who did we find in the ditch just in front of the stage if not KENT, waiting for his favourites with his video-camera...
And here they are!! Time for the highlight of the evening...
THE OVERTURES is regarded as the best band doing 60's music. And tonight they showed us that it's true! Not only great versions of The Beatles, but also Kinks, Stones, Badfinger etc, etc... Their multmedia show tonight was filled with nice original footage from the 60's. And tonight they played Jimi Hendrix as well! An extensive solo by Tony! We go to THE ADELPHI...
We are met by a genuine Brazilian group...
MANGUEIRA samba school is one of the oldest and most respected samba schools in Rio de Janeiro. Among the best that parade in the carneval each year. For only a couple of weeks ago they had won 1st Prize in a competion in Sao Paulo. The prize was a journey for the whole troup to Liverpool. What a surprise show we got! And all the beautiful girls!!!
Welcome back to Liverpool, SGT PEPPER after your two-year gap!
