The Flying Postmen

Andrei

Emil

THE FLYING POSTMEN come from Moldavia and are regular guests to Beatle Week since 1998. An excellent band! They rocks! And you look so happy when you play, guys! Wonderful!

Scott Wheeler Band

SCOTT WHEELER first visited Liverpool already in 1964 and become friend to George Harrison's parents - lucky him! This is his 10th consecutive Mathew Street Festival - not bad! This year he is backed by Liverpool musicians. Do you recognize the keyboard-player in the background?

JOHN 'DUFF' LOWE was classmate to Paul McCarney at The Liverpool Institute. He joined THE QUARRYMEN - John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, all on guitars, and Colin Hanton on drums - in January 1958 and played piano on their very first recordings 'That'll Be The Day' and 'In Spite Of All The Danger' in summer 1958. These recordings were released on 'THE ANTHOLOGY 1' in 1995. A historic person!

We visit THE WALL OF FAME in Mathew Street...

THE WALL OF FAME includes all the records by Liverpool artists, who have reached No. 1 in the national chart. We take a closer look at the last record...

'My Sweet Lord' - George Harrison

The re-release of the 'My Sweet Lord' single in 2002 has become a huge success. Oh, how we miss you George!

We continue to the GEORGE HARRISON photo exhibition at The Mathew Street Gallery.

Beautiful photos...

We looked in guest-book. And see what we found...

"So happy to be here meeting all the people who love my brother.
Lou Harrison  28.8.02"

Yes it's true! George's sister LOUISE HARRISON had visited the gallery the minutes before we were there. What a wonderful greeting to all visitors to Liverpool! Louise was invited from U.S.A. this year by Cavern City Tours. You will meet her later...

Now it's evening. We go to LIPA...

Música Expresiva

MÚSICA EXPRESIVA, all the way from Argentina, performed many Beatles songs on a variety of instruments including acoustic guitars, a violincello, flute, vibraphone and percussion along with the voice of their fantastic female singer Asdrúbal Urdaneta. All in very personal arrangements.

Oscar & Marco Zappa

OSCAR & MARCO ZAPPA from Italy performed their own tribute to George Harrison.

The Zeatles

THE ZEATLES - all the way from New Zeeland.

The Nurk Twins

Instant Karma's JON KEATS and Band On The Run's BOB BARTEY had come back to perform 'unplugged' as THE NURK TWINS.  The same name as two very young boys named John and Paul once used. We heard many wonderful versions of John's and Paul's solo songs.
