LIVERPOOL BEATLE WEEK

Sunday 28 August 2005

Me, Bengt, and Fab Will
(a real good friend!)

A very interesting interview now...

Mark Lewisohn and Will Lee

WILL LEE told us many great anecdotes from his long career with Beatles members and others. Extra funny was how he nearly missed GEORGE HARRISON's generously offer to play at his last gig at Royal Albert Hall in London 1992. One day Will could hear a voice with genuine Liverpudlian accent in his answering-machine: "Hello, this is George Harrison. I want you to play at my gig in Albert Hall. Please call 0123-456789." Will didn't call back for 3 days, convinced that his brother had played him a joke, expert of Liverpudlian accent as he was. When they at last talked to each other he realized that the phone call was genuine! And the telephone number was the private number to Friar Park! How did it end? Yes, he got the gig! They only rehearsed once. But George was the nicest person Will ever has played with. (For the Ex Factor Show The Fab Faux rehearsed 15 times!)

Urban Crow

URBAN CROW from Tampere, Finland was a nice new band, not only playing Beatles music but also Procul Harum. 'A Salty Dog' sounded very good. Member Tapani Lepomaki (with the blue guitar) also handed over 2 beautiful Urban Crow T-shirts for his appreciation of my website! And here are me and Ulla with the beautiful T-shirts. The photo was taken as a self portrait in our Adelphi hotel room.

Urban Crow - the most beautiful T-shirts at Beatle Week!

We went to Pierce Suite...

The Repeatles

THE REPEATLES from Sweden - also one of our favourites! A very good band, not only playing The Beatles, but also other 60s music by The Who, The Byrds, The Hollies, The Monkees and more, with great success. The band is also a bunch of very nice people!

Another interesting interview...

Mark Lewisohn and Tony Barrow

TONY BARROW was The Beatles' legendary press officer during the 60s. He reminisced a lot from the hectic Beatle days. We also got the chance to get a signed copy of his brand new book 'John, Paul, George, Ringo and me. The Real Beatles Story'. And that seems true. A wonderful book with interesting reading from an insider and also some nice pictures. Recomended!

Mark Lewisohn

MARK LEWISOHN is the world's leading Beatles expert and has written the very best books about The Beatles, 'The Beatles Complete Chronicle' among others. And 3 large biographies are on their way. A massive 12 years project!

We went to the Adelphi Main Stage to see THE REPEATLES again...
