LIVERPOOL BEATLE WEEK Monday 29 August 2005 Mathew Street Festival.
We went to the Water Street Stage...
To The Strand Stage now...
THE OVERTURES are an institution! No one can play the 60s music like them! What a beat! What a show! We took the ferry over
the River Mersey to the Woodside Wirral Stage...
We went to Pierhead and a fantastic and beautiful QUEEN Tribute...
GOD SAVE THE QUEEN (Dios Salve a la Reina) from Argentina. One of the absolutely best (if not the very best!) Tribute Band during Beatle Week! And the Liverpool audience!! Magic to stand in the crowd when all sang 'Bohemian Rapsody', 'We are The Champions' and all other songs! Everyone knew every single word! Like standing in the middle of a choir! And the handclapping in 'Radio Ga-Ga' and 'We Will Rock You'! Amazing!
THE KINGS OF RHYTHM were a first class swingband from Liverpool.
TRIPPER. A great band. Member Steve McDonald (right) has played at Beatle Week for more than 20 years! Time for the main event now...
THE FAB FAUX!!!
Wonder if we've ever heard GEORGE's first BEATLES song 'Don't Bother Me' at Beatle Week before. But here it was in a beautiful arrangement with Jack's great bongo drum and all.
THE FAB FAUX!!! What can you say! The Best Beatle Tribute Band in universe! No one plays this music better! And tonight we got a wonderful mix of Beatle songs from their whole career. For complete setlist and more, see the excellent Fab Faux site www.fabfauxfan.com
THE TEARAWAYS was a great solid band from Santa Barbara, California.
Suddenly TONY from Rocks Off jumped up on the stage and joined the band in a fantastic version of 'Jumpin' Jack Flash'. What a surprise!
Now, look here below! Yes, it's true! SEE THE AMAZING VIDEO! 'Jumpin' Jack Flash' (8,9 MB)
