LIVERPOOL BEATLE WEEK Friday 25 August 2006 Beatles
at the Grammys at the Adelphi. We start the afternoon at the Adelphi Ballroom...
NEIL B!!! You're Beatle Week! Our compère No. 1!!! Your presentations and humour is outstanding. (And baby Cole was so sweet.)
THE MERSEYBEATLES were all born in Liverpool and real proud Scousers. Also a great band. More wonderful George music now...
SIR FRANKIE CRISP & THE FRIARS. Every gig became better and better. What a band! A great Lennon Tribute now...
JON KEATS & INSTANT KARMA UK are a legends in Liverpool. Every year an outstanding show!
Yes! Next year we can expect a three and a half hours YOKO special at The Liverpool Empire! As they say, book early! (Doubt there's any tickets left now...) Great gigs at Cavern Back now...
JAN OWEN. Another great show! And your happiness shine through! Time for our heroes from home...
SEE THE AMAZING VIDEO! 'Venus' (4.9 MB) THE REPEATLES, from Sweden. One of the best bands at Beatle Week. Not only playing The Beatles with great success, but also The Kinks, The Birds, The Who and many more... Time for the first fabulous night at the Liverpool Empire...
And what a lineup for tonight...
A fabulous show! But no chance for me to present any pictures, sitting there on 8th row with my little compact camera. Sorry! (Most of my pictures are shot at very short distant, close to the stage.) We rushed to the Cavern
Pub and our TOP favourites - ROCKS OFF!!!
ROCKS OFF!!! What can you say? This Stones Tribute Band from Sweden is nothing but world class! Many who have seen the originals during the current tour assure Rocks Off sound better!
This looks like a pleasant time outside the Adelphi. But the reason was more serious than that! A fire at the back of the hotel forced the staff to evacuate all guests. So we had to entertain ourselves outside the hotel entrance first. A big thank you to Fab Frank, Hal Bruce and others. A little later we got access to the beautiful Adelphi lounge. But no gigs in the bars. At last we got access to our rooms and could get a few hours of sleep. More music tomorrow instead...
