LIVERPOOL BEATLE WEEK Sunday 26 August 2007 The
Beatles Convention at The Adelphi. We start with some intersting interviews...
BILLY HATTON from the original FOURMOST gave a very interesting interview with lots of fabulous stories from the Merseybeat era. Looked after by The Beatles' manager Brian Epstein the group recorded seven top 30 hits, four EPs and an Album with the one and only George Martin at EMI's world-famous Abbey Road Studios - The Beatles' studio! Their hit 'Hello Little Girl' was penned especially for them by their old friends John Lennon and Paul McCartney! We'll see Billy and the Fourmost at the Liverpool Empire on Monday.
JULIA BAIRD, John's half-sister. They both lived at 9 Newcastle Road together with Mother Julia Stanley during their first years of life. John was born in 1940. When sister Julia was born in 1947, Mother Julia lived here with her new man, John Dykins. At that time John lived with his Aunt Mimi at Menlove Avenue. John's father Alfred had left the family since long, soon after John's birth, and had gone to sea. Today Julia told the fascinating story of the Lennon, Stanley families and John's hard childhood. Recently Julia published her book Julia Baird: 'Imagine this - growing up with my brother John Lennon.' I bought a signed copy soon after the interview and thanked her for the book. "I wrote it for my mother", she told me. We go to Fridays Bar...

And I'm sure the newcomers really enjoyed the beautiful audience! Olle! Nice to see you back at this legendary stage doing your showpiece 'Oh Darling'! The first time was an unforgettable evening in 1998 with Lenny Pane performing the 'Abbey Road' album. And tonight's version - even better!
