LIVERPOOL BEATLE WEEK Tuesday 29 August 2007 Liverpool's
800th Birthday
Party at Williamson Square. We go to Liverpool's 800th Birthday Party at Williamson Square...
THE
REPEATLES. Today The City has invited four of the best bands to
perform at Williamson Square to celebrate Liverpool's 800th Birthday! Very
honorable for The Repeatles to be the band opening this magnificent
afternoon. And they are from our homeland Sweden!
See Lisa and Sandy Sunshine dancing...
SANDY SUNSHINE (right in black). You must be The Repeatles fan No. 1! They have even written a beautiful song about you!
A good friend joined the band....
HAL BRUCE. The very best acoustic artist at Beatle Week. What a surprise seeing you perform this hard-rocking classic - 'Pinball Wizard'. Here's the amazing Repeatles setlist...
More guests...
JAY (INSTANT KARMA). A great farewell! You really show how much you love to perform in Liverpool. And the audience just love you! Time for the next great band...
Here's the beautiful audience....
NUBE 9. Wow! See you performing Paul's song 'Dance Tonight' from his latest CD was a highlight! You were one the very top bands this year! One more gig tonight... And now! The best Rolling Stones Tribute in universe...
ROCKS OFF. Another fantastic gig! And you look so beautiful! The area just in front of the stage was crowded with professional photographers when you played! And this band comes also from Sweden! We're so proud! This will be a memorable Rocks Off day! Two more gigs before we go to bed! The afternoon at Williamson Square ended with The World's Top Tribute band...
THE OVERTURES (today without Jamie). You're the best! No one can play all these 60's hits with such power! Wow! Time for the Main Act at The Cavern Back...
DENNY LAINE was the guy Paul McCartney joined up with for his first musical project following the break-up of The Beatles. Denny, Paul and Linda founded WINGS and went to be the most successful post-fabs venture. In 1964, he joined The Moody Blues and several groups later, in 1972, finally hooked up with the McCartneys forming Wings. Denny co-wrote many of Wing's songs with Paul, and recorded the band's most successful album 'Band On The Run' in Lagos, Nigeria. Denny is supported at Beatle Week by Ringer, who were Denny's official backing band in the early 90's. And what a great show we got tonight! We go to The Cavern Pub...
Surprise guests enter stage...
NUBE 9. What a great Finale! Hope to see you in Liverpool again next year! You were one of the very best bands this year! We go to The Cavern Front...
Guests join The Repeatles at the stage...
Next band (also from Sweden!) ROCKS OFF!!!
Time for some guests to join on stage...
ROCKS OFF. Another breath-taking gig! Unbelievable! And we'll meet you soon again!!! We go to The Cavern Pub...
ELETRIKA BARBARELLA. Certainly the most sensational debut at Beatle Week 2007! You're such a great band! So powerful! Hope to see you in Liverpool again next year!
Some nice guests enter the stage...
HAL BRUCE. You're such a nice person! And how well you sing and play! Your acoustic guitar is unsurpassed! Time for the last gig with our Top Favorite Band...
See the beautiful girls dancing...
ROCKS OFF. Here we are at Beatle Week, and end up having a Rolling Stones Tribute Band as our top favorites! Totally crazy! But no wonder! You're such nice persons! And your performances were nothing but magic! Fantastic to stand right in front of the stage at ALL eight gigs. So the pictures turned out pretty well, don't you think? Finally, a nice meeting...
Thanks to Bill Heckle, Dave Jones, Ray Johnson, Ian and all others at Cavern City Tours, Rocks Off: Tony, Stevie, Toggan, Peter & Les, God Save The Queen, The Repeatles, The Overtures and all other wonderful Tribute Bands, happy fans, the nice people of Liverpool and off course all you wonderful friends, who attended these trips of a lifetime! Not the least my wife Ulla, not a Beatle-fan (almost, but she loves the Stones, Kinks, Queen etc). And who has shared these days of sweat and heat with me - and enjoyed it!
